# Management API

The Management API enables partners and large merchants to manage sales units and perform
self-service operations for common administrative tasks.

## What you can do with this API

* **Retrieve sales unit information**: Get details about sales units (MSNs) and merchant information
* **Prefill product orders**: Streamline merchant onboarding by pre-populating product order forms
* **Track product orders**: Monitor the status of product orders submitted through the API
* **Manage price packages**: Access and apply partner-specific pricing for merchant accounts

This API is designed for [partners](https://developer.vippsmobilepay.com/docs/partner/README.md) who onboard merchants, and for large merchants who need to manage
many sales units programmatically. Everything it does is also available in the
[business portal](https://portal.vippsmobilepay.com), so a merchant with only a few sales units is usually better
served there.

**NOTE**

The Management API only runs on the production server at [`https://api.vipps.no`](https://api.vipps.no).
It is not available in the [test environment](https://developer.vippsmobilepay.com/docs/APIs/management-api/management-api-faq.md#can-i-use-the-management-api-in-the-test-environment).
